Elvis, The Only Dog Left Behind After An Adoption Event, Gets Adopted By A Former Elvis Impersonator

Elvis’ adoption story wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns, but it was one that led to a happily ever after.

On November 11, The Anti-Cruelty Society (ACS) held an adoption event called “Fall In Love”. And it was a happy day for 22 dogs and 39 cats who found their forever home.

But soon after, ACS shared on Facebook that only one dog didn’t get his forever home at the event and was asking help to find a home for the pooch.

The shelter in Chicago shared in a Facebook post, “Elvis is the only dog that didn’t find a home during our Fall in Love adoption event.”

Elvis entered ACS as a stray dog and had a fracture on his pelvis. But despite that, he healed in ACS’ care and they now describe him as a “3-year-old meatball that has the silliest personality.”

“He met a lot of potential adopters but sadly did not get adopted,” ACS revealed.

Three days later, after the shelter’s post about Elvis went viral, the three-year-old pooch was finally adopted.

And the Anti-Cruelty Society announced the good news on Facebook and said, “Elvis has LEFT the building!”

They shared, “His adopters had been waiting for the right time to welcome a dog into their family and once they saw Elvis on the news, they couldn’t deny that it was fate!”

And the best part? One of Elvis’ new parent, Loren, has worked as an Elvis impersonator in the past and shared that he plans to keep the pooch’s iconic name!

ACS shared that Elvis’ new parents are “head over heals in love” with him and already has a dog bed and tons of toys to welcome home the new addition to their family.

Drew, Elvis’ new parent, said, “When no one else wanted him, we found him. We’re all a bunch of misfits.”
